Halo's Lip Augmentation With Radiance InjectionsHi! My YTF nickname is Halo. This is my journal about my Radiance lip augmentation experience. Fourteen months ago I had eight tenths of one cc (.8 cc) of Radiance injected into my lips during my rhinoplasty/septoplasty procedure. I am very satisfied with my results. I tried fat injections before Radiance, and 2 cc of Cosmoplast after Radiance. Both looked great and felt soft, but the results were short lived. My Radiance has lasted a lot longer than the other fillers I've tried. It doesn't seem to be going anywhere any time soon. It still looks and feels good now, so I'm very happy with it. The procedure itself was a piece of cake. The recovery was quick and easy too. Because I was asleep for my rhinoplasty, I didn't feel anything. After the surgery I didn't have much bruising in my lip area. My lips were a little swollen, stiff, and tender for the first few days after the procedure. If I hadn't had a rhinoplasty at the same time as the Radiance injections, I would have been able to go out the same day I had the injections. My lips looked fine right afterwards. During the recovery I didn't ice my lips very much because I didn't feel the need to. I used lip balm regularly to keep my lips from getting dry or cracking. For a few weeks I kept my lips coated in a layer of Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment®, or Vaseline Brand Lip Therapy®. I still use Blistex® every night. I didn't move my lips very much for the first few days after the surgery because my face was sore from the rhinoplasty. I didn't do anything unusual to my lips while they were healing either. I just kept them moisturized and let them heal. When I first had the Radiance injections, my augmentation was not as noticeable as it became over the weeks following the procedure. It did take me a couple of weeks to see the end results. The best part was seeing my lips slowly get softer and fuller over those first few weeks. A complication I had after my Radiance injections was that a pea sized lump formed deep inside my lip. I noticed it a few months after getting Radiance. I had to massage the lump the way my plastic surgeon told me to get it to go away. The lump wasn't noticeable to anyone else unless I went out of my way to show them that it was there. It was most noticeable right after I massaged my lips. I had to stretch my lip out and put pressure on the area from behind for the lump to become visible. The lump slowly became smaller, and it finally went away after regularly massaging it. It took quite a few weeks. Lumps are never any fun to have and I'm glad it's gone. I had lumps after my fat injections too, but those lumps disappeared much faster than this one did. Then again, my fat injection results didn't last long in comparison. Another thing I noticed after getting Radiance is more blanching on the underside of my top lip. The blanching was already there from my fat injections, but it seems to show up even more now after the Radiance. The blanching is not obvious to most people, but I'm a perfectionist and I know it's there. If I wear a light lip gloss, or use cinnamon oil/lip balm, it doesn't show. Lipstick completely covers the blanching, but I don't wear lipstick very often. I am really happy with how much bigger the Radiance injections made my lips. I see the biggest difference in my top lip. I had a very thin top lip before Radiance. Now, after Radiance, my lips are better proportioned and my profile is more balanced. My lips feel thicker and fuller, compared to how they felt before the Radiance injections. To feel where the Radiance is, I have to squeeze and roll my lip between my fingers. I like how other people can not tell that I have a filler in my lips by touching or kissing them. No one knows I have Radiance unless I want them to know. My Radiance lips look and feel very natural. Eight months after getting Radiance, I had 2 cc of Cosmoplast injected over it. Cosmoplast on top of the Radiance I already had gave me huge, soft, pouty looking lips that I loved. Unfortunately the Cosmoplast disappeared really fast. My Radiance remained, thank goodness, and I really appreciated it for lasting. When I get a second cc of Radiance, I will have some of it put into my lips to even them out, and I will have the rest put into the frown lines/wrinkles I have forming between my eyebrows. Meanwhile, I'm planning to get Perlane put over my Radiance to see how I like that.
